Most annoyingly, the next-to-top slat on my 7-slat grille has disappeared. Whether it's just dropped off or had been liberated by somebody needing one I cannot guess, but these things are both difficult to come by and expensive.

The car now has the aesthetics of a supermodel with her front teeth knocked out.

Maybe I'm just a tight-fisted Yorkshireman, but it does seem silly to replace a whole grille for the sake of one clip-on slat.

As there must be veritable hordes of people out there who have fitted 5 slat grilles to 7 slat cars, and have the remnants of a chipped/bent 7 slat job gathering dust in the garage, does anybody have a no2 slat from a 7 slat grille available, for a fee of course?

Or, for that matter, a full 7 slat grille if needs be . . .

Get hold of Mike at Bamford Rose... They replaced my 7 piece chrome grille with a new DB9 black one so my old one should still be lying around.

Sadly AMBits are devoid of such things at the moment, hence the desperate search to fix my little girl's smile.

Hey Lawson I think I may have one in my garage, but it's dark metallic grey and one of the longer ones. It's a bit bent but can be straightened and cut down I guess. I'll look tomorrow and get back to you.

J12 - you're a gent, though not sure if the different slat will have the same curve/profile? I don't know.

Smudger - methinks we need one grille between us, then to sell off the spare bits!

I have got one slat but it's a bit bent and has some damage. It's the one hanging out of this photo...

You're welcome to it if you can use it.

Yeh..thought so. Originally thought I had one of the straighter ones, but they must have gone back with the car. Won't bother next time.

This exchange between you and Martyn is hilarious.
