I'm on a mission to get back to a sensible weight again, having nudged towards 14st.

I'm 5'9" tall, looking to drop somewhere between 12st7 &12st.

I'm eating about 1600-1700cal a day, sensible food, avoiding fatty stuff & getting decent exercise 3 times a week.

The weight is slowly dropping off, but I was wondering, are these dietary fat binders all they are crack up to be & are there nasty side effects?

Ever wonder why none of the major diet companies out there don't not have their own branded "diet pills"?

Stick with what your doing, if you want to lose it quicker, up your cardio or knock another 100 or 200Kcal off your diet, but I wouldn't go much lower then that if your doing a good level of exercise.

Not thought about it like that.

They bind to the fat which then travels through your guts... quite likely to give you the sts. wink

Why so difficult to accept that it might take about 3 months or so to shift the heft, rather than pee money away to do it in 2?
Continue on your current path and you'll get there, just a little slower (sans cost).

Quick fix is rarely the answer.

What's wrong with fat? Is it 1983 again?

Dietary fat isn't your issue. It's the fat on your backside that's the issue. Continue what you're doing (bar the low fat diet).

A natural high fibre diet will help.

Are you actually fat because you consume a lot of it in your diet? Most overweight people I know, including myself at various points in my life, are 'fat' because of too much sugar, the wrong type of carbs and consuming excess alcohol; and fat binders won't have an effect here.

+2.

You can complicate it if you want, but all you really need is "No alcohol, no sugar, no flour, and patience".
