Best place for wheel alignment
Discussion
I'm looking for a wheel alignment specialists preferably to do a 4 wheel alignment on a Subaru Hatch with air-ride. Apparently the struts are the same as a coilover setup so it should be do able with the usual equipment, may just take a bit longer!
Can anybody recommend anywhere in the Yorkshire area, we're in Leeds but willing to travel for a decent job. They also must be open on the weekend.
Cheers.

Try Andy Turner. He is in Kirkstall and very well regarded and a proper, nice bloke who knows a shedload about cars.
I went there after reading recommendations from here. Nice bloke but doesn't have the equipment to do wheel alignment and does it all by feel based on how you tell him how your car drives. Really couldn't believe it but went along with it. After he'd finished messing about I took the car away only to now have the steering wheel off centre. Had to take it back to him a further 2 times to get him to put it right and it still wasn't right after, didn't bother with the hassle after that as he kept making excuses about being too busy to do it
. He even went out with me in the car as he couldn't understand my complaint about it being off centre. Took it down a straight road in a housing estate off Cockshott Lane and said it drove straight even though the road has a bad slope across it from left to right. I said to take it down Armley Rd at the top of the hill as that's flat but "no, that's too far" even though it's literally 30 seconds up the road.
As I say, nice bloke but if I'm paying someone to set up my steering geometry properly then that's what I expect to get, not some guy without any equipment telling me "that feels about right" and then washing his hands of the problem when my steering wheel goes off centre as a result of his tampering.
You need to go here:-
ABC Car Service, unit 14 =, Silver Court, Intercity Way, Leeds, LS13 4LY,.
Ask for the boss, Artur to do it.
Took my A4 cab there as it felt to be moving about too much under heavy braking.
He took it for a test drive with me, on a level road, told me what he thought was wrong.
Set it up on 4 wheel laser alignment rig. Which showed pretty much exactly what he had said.
Adjusted it all, then another test drive, with me sat next to him, he was satisfied.
Bill was £72 including VAT.
Then I got in it to drive it, not really expecting much difference, to be honest. The car was utterly transformed!
Since had car serviced by them, and will not go any where else.

How is that "tampering", I'm sure after the guy told you he didn't have what you class to be the equipment to do it, you had a choice of saying "oh ok thanks, but no thanks" and walking away?

Seems to me that YOU made a decision that didn't pan out the way YOU'D hoped...
then tried to blame someone else?cheesesliceking said:

The guy makes a big song and dance of having umpteen decades of race/race car experience, setting up steering geometry "just so" so if it's good enough for them you'd expect that he knows what he's doing, would you not? Besides which, he has plenty of glowing recommendations from this sub-forum so why would I NOT use him based on the info I had to hand at the time? Seems to me that YOU made a decision that didn't pan out the way YOU'D hoped...
