I used to own a VXR8, sold it October time and im missing it like crazy.. So im looking for a cheap car as a good project for a project car, looking at either 4-door saloon or sports car.
ideally with middle of the road priced tuning. Yeah im on a budget.

old shape RS4
E46 M3

Maybe even a F150 Lightning.. But something that is a solid base for potential tuning

R32/33/34 Skyline GTR?

Supra Twin Turbo?

Both holding their value very well regardless of modifications!

B5 RS4 - you can get upwards of 550bhp out of them with some (relatively) reasonably priced tuning from MRC in Banbury.

Either of these, all can do well over 600+bhp without forged internals.

Hell you can get 700BHP Out of a Supra with not much over £3500.

How cheap is cheap? I imagine that a 5 year old Merc C63 is 'cheap' relative to it's new value and supercharger kits are available for it.

Whatever you do, i would start with something that comes out the factory with a turbo(s) or supercharger.

S4/RS4 is a good shout, some of the tuning looks VERY pricey with them though, speaking as an ex S4 owner.

Skyline GTR (or a GTS-T if you wanted to go RWD) or Supra would be a good shout, simply because the RB and 2JZ engines are well known, strong and there is a huge aftermarket for them.

Some good cars there..

budget is probably :
Car = £10-£14k then get tuning

will be a weekend fun car and something to put a smile on my face when the drudge of M25 weekly commute wares thin.

For ten to fourteen thousand the world is your oyster.

You could be in an E60 M5 for less than £14k.
