Pick up my 2007 V8 Vantage just after the new year from a private sale. Loving the car but have a couple of very minor issues to sort out which was known before the purchase and its on a list of to do. But a couple of problems have now popped up.

One is the boot won't open anymore and the other is the 12V power supply in the cabin doesn't work either.

The boot was working fine earlier in the week but it now won't open using either the fob button or the boot release button next to the gear stick.

When I press the fob boot button, the tail lights flashes to show it has acknowledged the fob signal but when I press the boot button the boot stay locked and there is no solenoid release sound like you do with pressing the door unlock button on the fob or the fuel cap release button in the car. Pressing the boot release button inside the car don't do anything either.

I thought it was a fuse and checked the manual which said the tailgate release fuse is F46 in the cabin, but that was fine. Is this the right fuse for the boot release?

It might be a coincident but the boot release stopped working after I'd plugged in a 12V phone charger into the cabin 12V power supply which doesn't work either. The boot 12V power supply is working fine.

Any ideas?

On a side note, welcome! And congratulations on your new car.

FYI, my cabin charger doesn't work either, while the boot one does.

Have you looked into the bottom of the socket.?They are annoyingly sized so that a one or five P piece will lodge perfectly in there and can cause a fuse to blow.

You need to press the boot release button on the fob twice for it to activate the boot release....

As for the 12v socket in the cabin.... The fuse for that is in the passenger footwell fuse box smile

Cabin 12V power supplied now fixed. It turned out the spare fuse F55 in the cabin fuse box has blown. I thought I'll check all the spare fuse in the cabin fuse box and came across this blown fuse, replaced it and the power supplied works fine now. Wished AM documented this in the owner manual.

I still can't get the boot to release. Anyone got any idea if this is also caused by a blown fuse? If so, which one? There's nothing in the owner manual about it.

The owner manual said there is an emergency release on the boot release mechanism. Tried to get the parcel shelf off this afternoon without luck. Can the parcel shelf be taken off with the tailgate locked, do I just need to be more forceful?

Thanks.

Same problem happened on mine this week, you can lean in and give the parcel shelf a gentle thump either side to allow it to drop out of the mountings, just un-clip the two retainer cords first. It's a long un dignified reach to the release pull so a coat hanger helps smile
