Discussion
From looking at the forum categories I guess "satnav" is the closest heading I could find to discuss tracker systems. My insurance company is insisting on me fitting a vehicle tracking system. What would you recommend pricewise? Heard trackers all have a bad rep at the moment so thinking will just go with the cheapest to satisfy my insurance.
Thanks

Masternaut do a brilliant one for IIRC £99 and pounds a month and you can wire it up so you can stop the car remotely, I used to use it on my cars when they were really a commercial vehicle tracker as the inclusion of an engine stop button was useful (although it did have big red writing saying only use with police permission
)
)The Tracker systems are very good and their response centre (movement alerts etc) has been very good. Four of my cars have Tracker devices of various types and I have no problems with them. However, Tracker customer service and sales are absolutely appalling.
I've also one of these - http://back2you.com/store/product_info.cfm?product... - which is great for moving between vehicles.

To satisfy your insurance company best to ask them what Thatcham category of tracking system they accept. Details of what systems are approved are on the Thatcham website. Then it needs to be installed or checked by a qualified Thatcham approved installer to provide you with an installation certificate. Without an installation certificate I don't see any insurers paying out if your car was stolen.
I've used Tracker in the past but only because the cars I've bought have already had them fitted, I wouldn't install one out of choice because as said above Customer service is lacking.
