996 short shift (again)

Hi all. There's quite a lot of earlier forum stuff on short shifters. After reading the various comments I had the O.E.M. GT3 shifter fitted to my 996 turbo. Around £150 from Porscheshop Halesowen and 1.5 hours at my local indie AW Motorsport of Southbourne near Chichester. All in around £220 and the best ££s I've ever spent on a car. Very precise, not too notchy when cold, shortens the throw a bit, but the real benefit is that is gives a massively better sense of connection with the car and really enhances the driving experience. I recommended it to a mate in Somerset and he had one fitted to his 3.4 C2 cab yesterday by Steve Bull in Devizes. He immediately contacted me to report it had transformed the car and he was really chuffed. I really recommend this mod to all owners of manual 996s, and I guess it will have the same benefits in Boxsters.
