We have a handheld tv/DVD player for our eldest and it is great at keeping her quiet on longer journeys. Problem is we can't attach it to our headrests due to the funny shape of them.

Now our youngest is starting to ask for one and with a lot of big journeys this year we are wanting to get her something too.

I hate having wires running everywhere and we are going through DVD's like crazy as she keeps taking them out and scratching them.

Been looking at the aftermarket ones you swap out your current headrests for (with the headphones!) and even looked at a bigger ceiling drop down one. Anyone fitted one/advice?

Don't want to go down the iPad/kindle route with them just yet!

Right now I have a kindle (£99 from argos a couple of weeks ago. It's up to £120 now) and a simple headrest mount (£18) from amazon.

Happy with it for the odd time I have the niece in the car, plus I can use it when it's not in the car.

I've fitted both the overhead type and the headrest type to diferent cars without any problems.

I found the overhead type easier as it just needed voltage once fitted.

The headrest ones have cables that go between both so it allows one movie to play on both but they can still play diferent movies on each. These take a bit longer to fit but are worth it.

I bought the headrest ones on ebay for about £200 and the overhead one was about £150

Edit for pictures

This is all there is to the connections

and how they look fitted (on my CTS)
