996 RS Battery Issues

So took the RS out today for the 1st time in a while. It sits on a Cetek and have noticed the light being mainly on orange rather than green. After 10 mins I get warning on the dash 'Battery charge failure' then later followed by 'ABS and Brake Distribution Failure'.
I'm thinking a new battery may sort it?
I called JZM, need to call Steve Mchale (top bloke) Monday to discuss as I bought car last June from them so need to get it plugged in to check.
JZM a fair distance from me so thinking its just a new battery and getting a new one will resolve all these issues?
Also after leaving the car for 5mins the ABS issues vanished from the check list and I noticed whilst driving the Bluetooth had disconnected itself then reconnected which makes me think it'd a battery issue.
Any tips wud be great tks
Check the battery electrolyte levels - constant charging can evaporate the fluid causing problems.
Charging warnings usually relate to the alternator; start the engine and check the battery voltage with a multimeter - ideally you'd expect to see approx 14 volts with the engine running. Anything less than 12 volts is a problem

Many tks. Do you think the ABS business is a result of the battery/alternator issues? It's likely, yes. If the voltage sags the computers will freak out.If you're still running the original Porsche battery, swap it out for a lighter and better one such as an Odyssey (mounting kits available from Rennline). The factory batteries are notoriously rubbish.

Was thinking for £120 getting rac over to fit a Bosch S5 . Maybe if it's alternator issues I'm better off heading to JZM next weekend and getting it plugged in If you're still running the original Porsche battery, swap it out for a lighter and better one such as an Odyssey (mounting kits available from Rennline).
