Must hold 4 adults
Must be fun
Capable of regular motorway mileage
Preferably at the bottom of its depreciation curve
Will keep for 6months and sell on or tuck away int garage.

Thus far, i'm thinking:

Aston Martin DB7 Vantage
BMW E60 M5
Mercedes SL 55AMG
Audi RS4 or 6
Land Rover Defender
Mitsubishi EVO 6TM
Subaru Impreza 22B

What else????

List below is subsequent forum recommendations:
Maserati 4200
Escort Cosworth
Lancia Integrale
Maserati Quattroporte
Ferrari 400i
Lotus Carton
Bentley Arnage
Ford Focus RS
BMW M6
Mercedes CL600 V12
Mercedes CLS AMG
Vauxhall Monaro VXR
Mercedes 500E

Bentley Arnage - sheer class!

In fact - give it a year and Conti GT will also be in budget......

Cab only fits 2 so sort of forced to take the coupe...

Audi V8 RS6 Avant (i have one),and i have had Subaru's and an Integrale and if we are talking "must hold 4 adults" regularly
then the only car above that comes close to the Audi is the M5.

Many of the others will feel seriously cramped with 4 adults onboard.

I'd feel like an idiot suggesting a Saab against all these other suggestions. That being said a 93 or 95 Aero will most definitely carry 4 people, the turbos are fun and the motorway consumption is better than most, but again it does depend on how you drive I guess.

A V6 MG ZS? Fun, spacey, not too harsh on the fuel, probably better than a quattroporte.

Trying to think outside the box.
