Its coming up to pad change time -discs are fine - and have always felt the Vantage brakes could do with a bit more initial bite so wondered if anyone has experience of other than OEM pads. David Appleby offer Performance Friction pads which have good reputation -anyone got these?

I have investigated overall brake upgrades involving bigger callipers etc such as that offered By David Appleby , Bamford Rose etc but cannot justify the expense especially if a pad type change would give that extra bite.

After KarlFranz's recommendation on here, I went for Porterfield RS-4 pads on the front of my V8V. (I think that Karl helped develop them). They are a very decent performing pad with significantly less brake dust than the OEM Pagids. I can also recommend them.

The UK importer is here: http://porterfieldbrakes.co.uk/

EBC Red Stuff (these are great pads once you get through the initial break in period) or Porterfield RS-4 pads seem to be a popular alternative to the original Aston pads. I'll be changing mine to Red Stuffs soon as my pads wear down a bit more.
