So, your allowed 2 cars, one, a practical workhorse, the other, a fun/weekend car.

Same manufacturer

Currently in production

Combined price UNDER £150,000

I'll start the ball rolling with these two no brainers!

330d Touring and M5 are the only correct answers.

As far as I'm concerned, you've won!

I can't do better than that.

MB's are too bloaty, BMW's are too similar and don't have a sunny day car I'd want, I'm not too keen on Pork and Audi might get a sniff with an R8 and S4 Avant combo.

FD2 Civic Type R, a set of Nitron coilovers for it, induction and exhaust as a daily.

Facelift NSX Type R as a weekend toy.

Surely the new X Drive 335d Touring would fit the budget with an M5?

Choice 1:

Lotus Evora
Lotus 2-Eleven

That means giving up all my hobbies that need a big car to carry stuff though frown I've not driven anything even close to how a modern Lotus drives though for engagement and enjoyment.

Choice 2:

Porsche Panamera
Porsche 962

And keep my hobbies! I reckon I'd last about 2 weeks before I traded in the Panamera though!

That's my final choice. There's no manufacturer that makes 2 new cars I'd want to own. I want a GTR, but everything else Nissan make is utter pap.
And anything remotely interesting doesn't come under budget.

Nope, can't better that, save that I'd have a coupe F rather than a convertible.

I'll be honest with you and say that I saw, and heard, both of the Jags today and realised that IMO there is nothing that can touch them for looks, performance and quality. A Boxster/Cayenne combo might work for some but personally I really dont like the Cayenne. The 2 Jags are near, if not at the top of there respective leagues although the F-Type is a bit expensive. Both are such fine cars on the eye and would sit well on my drive if I had the dosh!

If It was a one car household I'd take the coupe but I do like the wind in my, albeit short, hair on a Summer evening.
