It is first thing Monday morning and I'm still half asleep. Please help me filter through the fog of my mind to see if this is doable or just madness.

The question is simple.

How realistic would it be to drive this

Running on a set of these

To 2/3rds of the way up Sweden at the end of Feb on roads like these for the last 300km

Well the Swedes manage with RWD Volvo's and the Germans with BMW's and Mercs

That's what I was thinking. I'm no stranger to driving on snow in Europe but have never been that far up north before in winter.

Lovely jubbly, I'll get it booked. Am ice driving up there so it'll be good to get my eye in!

Good work!

Ice driving with 911s by any chance?

No not Tuthill/Below Zero, BMW E36s mainly I think.

However, I'm sorely tempted to drive up in my rally car which is already prepped for European rallying on snow. It is an incredibly inhospitable environment (the car not the frozen tundra!) but would be superb fun wrestling it up there...

Best get the ruddy heater fixed first then!
Personally, I'd go for the Range Rover... its warm, comfortable and laughs in the face of snow. And an ice lake would be the perfect place to learn how to drift it smile

Fancy it then, Michael?!

I think it would be a good run up in the 944. I find that fear and crippling discomfort take away any feelings of cold wink
