I need to organise a trackday followed by a reasonably serious session to wish farewell to my brother who is emigrating to Australia. For the weekend under discussion, there are trackdays available at Anglesey, Rockingham, Snetterton and Blyton Park.

Out of these four, where would be the best place to head to if we plan to stay the night somewhere fairly close (after the trackday) and then get riotously drunk? We don't need big city lights and nightclubs, but we do need to avoid sleepy one horse towns where the pubs all close at 11 and you don't get served if you don't speak "local".

Rockingham has a reasonable appeal because we're all heading from different parts of the country and it's fairly central, but I know absolutely nothing about the local area other than an urban myth that deep fried mars bars are very popular in Corby.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Blyton Park could give you a night out in Lincoln, I'd avoid Gainsborough - it's on a par with Corby.

Anglesey followed by a night out in Chester? Or if you're really adventurous you could try Bangor, it's a University town so should have some nightlife and lots of young ladies.

Note of caution - I've not been out in either location for around 20 years, so am not recommending them, but I'd have thought they should be OK for a send off.

Or if you wanted a proper night out, why not do Oulton Park followed by either Liverpool or Manchester - both towns are only 45 mins away and will have a plentiful supply of cheap hotels, good food and decent pubs and clubs.

Norwich does reasonably well on the big night out front and is just up the road from Snetterton.

Snet's a great circuit for a mixed (skill/interest/etc) crowd for a trackday too.

Bangor near Anglesey is good as long as the students are in town. Otherwise it's dead. I went to Uni there. The Fat Cat bar is a good starting point.

Corby has a large Scottish community which is probably where the fried mars bar thing comes from.

snetterton and norwich is a good combination. the city is less then 30 minutes from the track up the A11 so very easy to get to. there are lots of hotel/B&B in the city and enough nightlife for whatever your tastes are.

Zandvoort TD then out in Amsterdam, that will give him a proper send off, & possibly a nasty rash wink

Both of the last two would be fab, but sadly logistics mean that his has to be a UK jaunt.

Currently looking at either Snett / Norwich or Rockingham / Stamford. Stamford on the basis that it must be a better night out than either Kettering or Market Harborough!

Market Harborough isn't too bad a night out (at least it wasn't 5+ years ago when I lived there), Corby is rough as expected and Kettering isn't great.
