So, Depressed by the lack of good tyres, and the relative high price of 195/55/15 tyres compared with 195/50/15 for example I have decided to get some 16" wheels for my 306 GTi-6 and will therefore need tyres in the above size.

What should i get, I'm thinking PS3's at the moment as Goodyears f1 Asymetric 2s are only a 83 load rating when really i need 87v i think...

AD08s could be tempting too.

How much does your 306 weight; 83 is nearly half a tonne per tyre!

Having said that, 83 is oddly low.

Judging by your listing of the AD08, might be worth checking out the Bridgestone Adrenalin RE002s. They're designed to be a bit sporty, have plenty of dry grip, seem to get good reviews and are available cheaper than the Michelins

Only weighs about 1200Kg, Its lighter than standard as it has a lightened flywheel, crank pulley etc, no spare tyre and no AC

Why not just change to 195/50/15?
I ran that size on my gti6 for 3 years with no problem.

I have PS3s on one of my cars at the moment. I can't really fault them to be honest. They're just quite good.

The choice of tyres seems to be slowly thining out in that size now anyway and both tyres over similar ride.
Plus this way i can fit massive great 4 pots should i want to

AD08s are pretty soft, too. Good grip levels, but they do wear fairly quickly.

I'd expect the Bridgestone to outlast the AD08, Bridgestone are fairly proud of their wear rates and lots of fairly good mileages on TyreReviews
