Lights again but this time - bar end lights

Flat bar users... You know when you cross a T junction with your fabulous forward-facing Ebay special CREE lights, and your multiple rearward-facing Christmas Tree lights, but nothing actually facing into the junction itself?

Well, I give you BAR END LIGHTS:



At UNDER 2 QUID I thought they were worth a shot and my answer is YES THEY ARE. They have 3 different "on" modes and are actually impressively bright (2x SMD LEDs on each circuit board).

So good, that I've ordered 5 more sets for the kids (who never actually go out at night but they loved mine so much, I couldn't refuse).

hehe that ebay page just got me some looks in the office! "Kissbuyonline" and a bright pink background, and those lights which look a bit like something else . . .

Yeah, the Chinese don't consider office manners.

The body of these is aluminium and they came in a little plastic box. There seems entirely too much product for under 2 quid.

Good idea, although I personally just put the reflectors back on the wheels and some of that paint coloured 3M reflective tape on the frame.

The 3m spoke reflectors are good, too.

I run these, down side is they don't work if your wheels aren't turning.

Add these to my 2 x Cree spots and 2 x cree strobe torches, and a fluro / reflective rain jacket!

I bought my son a set of these. They broke as we put them onto his valve caps. I suspect I bought the very cheapest crap ones. Are yours any good? He still wants some.

Mine are fine, did have an issue with battery contact, but solved that with a bit of bending.

I'll check mine tonight and report back as they did a 5 mile offroad run at the weekend.

They were still there at the 4 mile marker.

Will they fit on drop bars as well? I realise that they won't give light to the side like they will for an MTB, but if they give 2 red lights to the rear and are inside the handlebars so hidden/protected, then at least it's a bit more red light to the rear.

Thought about these on the ride home, not sure if they'd be much use for me, as I ride a MTB with road tyres, flat bars and stubbie bar ends, I spend most of my time with my hands over the ends of the bars- covering up where the light comes from. But for <2 quid it's probably worth a punt anyway!

Oddly enough, I was thinking about bar-end lights for the road bike today (first road bike ride of the year), after some pretty close overtakes and some abuse from one particular driver who thought I should "get out of his fking way".

I'm wondering if the addition of bar-end lights which effectively mark out the width of the bike might psychologically influence following drivers into giving me more room when they pass when compared to the 'normal' centre-line positioning of my usual rear lights.

Today I had a Cateye TL-LD610 on the seatpost, a Smart 1/2 watt clipped onto my jersey pocket, and a 'Knog' style 'flasher' on my seatpost above the Cateye. Should I really need to be doing more? Or is it the case that no matter how much light I'm outputting at the rear, some morons will still "SMIDSY" when what they really mean is "Sorry. I thought that was more than enough space for you when I squeezed past at the traffic-calming island back there".

Yes they will. They are a little narrower than the inside of a standard bar which you take up the slack by compressing the silicone tube.

2 quid. How is it possible?

i have the motion wheel lights and they are great. only fit the MTB though, ill put these on the the roadie.
