Range rover Sport 'Video Signal System not correct'

Hi,
Just bought a 2005 Range Rover Sport all is OK apart form the DVD player. I have loaded two DVD's and get the same error. 'Video Signal System not correct'. I have checked to make sure the screen is set to PAL and the DVD's play fine on the home system. any ideas would be appreciated.
