MP3 converters

Can someone advise me the best program to convert my cds to MP3s. Free or otherwise.
Also, is there a way of turning MP3s back to wav? files so I can play on an old cd player?

I use CDex,free, dead simple, links to cddb, loads of settings etc, no hastles so far.

And mp3 -> wav isnt a problem for a lot of aps, nero for one burns wav cd's from mp3.

You can use windows media player (V10) for both ripping to mp3 and then burning an audio cd from those mp3's.

And it's free. If you don't have V10 you can get it here

Personally though I prefer the wma format - Same sound quality but smaller file size than mp3 due to more compression. wma is the 'native' format for windows media player.

Most new players will play wma as well as mp3.

Christ no. MP10 does all sorts of horrible stuff with DMM.....

Thats what I use + You can record them at variable bit rates which is usefull

Only if you leave DRM turned on (the default). I have turned it off and I have no issues at all with copying etc....... assuming I wanted to, officer
