E63 M6 Brakes

Car is in at BMW and they say the discs are below minimum. They haven't come back to me with a quote yet, but I'm guessing that I'll have to be sitting down.

Are there any lpaces I should be looking for OEM discs and just getting BMW to do the labour? I saw in the M5 sticky thread that it mentions http://www.bmminiparts.com/ however I cannot see brake discs on that site.

Quick update...

Just been quoted £1,055 for all 4 fitted by BMW. This was actually less than I was expecting and hopefully it pays to have friends in BMW service. Pads apparently can be 'de-glazed' as they haven't done a lot of miles?

Before I pull the trigger, does this sound reasonable?

Check ebay, some of the dealers sell OEM discs/pads on there. Your quoted price seems pretty reasonable though.

I wouldn't have new discs and old pads no matter what 'de-glazing' they've done?

Oh dear Stedman, this could end up being a very expensive request. Once you hear it, feel it, experience it you will want one, it really is a nice place to be.

Sounds good, looks good, feels special as not many about and that V10 at mid range is simply awesome and a real treat. So good you will not care about the regular trips to the garage to fill up where the only 'hardship' is the number of people that will want to chat with you about such a vehicle.

And when it does we know it has just had new brakes all round..................I feel this could develop.....

As for Stedman it looks like the planets could be aligning according to my basic calculation:-

Ride in M6 + Promotion = Purchase
