There have been grumblings about a European air strike on the 29th January. My Family and I are due to fly from Gatwick to Salzburg, with an 8 month old Baby.

I know a few of you are "in the know" on this... what is the likely hood of this going ahead? How worried should air passengers be?

Most accurate information can be found from eurocontrol. https://www.public.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/

If you go to the top right hand side there is a link stating what ATC agencies are striking and when and will continue to be updated when new information is available.

With pleasure,

Must say , my first thought was it's hardly "top secret" planning of a bombing run....

Must admit I thought op was referring to some sort of blitzkrieg.

Glad to see you fell for it too... The EU will call a crisis meeting in Strasbourg, and as all the chubby pink-faced Eurocrats are sitting down to a round of coffee and luxury biscuits to talk bks, the bombs start to rain down.

I put more fuel in.

It would break then they would ask for more money from the public........

I'm just planning a route. Has Belgium got any air defence assets other than rolled-up Directives?

They have F16's think you may have to detour.

I can't imagine a Belgian pilot, still less one in an F16. I see his cockpit loaded up with croissants and bits of paper.

But I could go through French airspace. When I tell them I'm off to bomb Strasbourg they'll probably escort me biggrin

It'll get over the channel & then the EU can fund their own destruction smile

Unfortunately its permit gives no right to fly outside the UK, I think

Yes I can see that being the main problem when planning a bombing run on Brussels

NOOOO!!! Ive got to visit Antwerp via Brussels in the next week or so and I don't want to give the bds anymore reason to delay their bloody Factory Acceptance Tests than they have had already!

Excellent. Suggest you head north for Strasbourg dropping window - they will see 100+ incoming - when you see the fighters coming up, leg it for home and draw them away. By the time I arrive they will be landing to refuel. Capital thumbup
