They seem to have welded a bit into the drive shaft to make it longer...

Actually, when compared to some of the more stty MR2 'lookalike' efforts, that is quite good.

If you'd ever the seen the alternative solution for wide track MR2 body conversions you'd appreciate that modifying the suspension and driveshafts like this is the better approach!

The whole 355 / 360 kit wheel spacers is a bit of a worry as to what it does to the drive shafts and wheel bearings ?
Do the wheel bearings fail every 500 miles ?

That looks like the business end of a Gatling gun.

How long do the wheel bearings last when the fulcrum point is moved out so much further?

Bearing lifespan is likely to be significantly reduced. I would also imagine that getting the whole assembly well balanced with an enormous wheel hanging off the stupid spacer could be a fruitless task.
