Pronuncification?

You know when you see a word written down but never hear it spoken? I had that the other day, went to say "patina" but realised I didn't know the correct pronunciation. So, is it:

patINa
Or some other variation I haven't thought of?

Not at all, the dictionary tells you all you need to know, the stress is on the "Pat" and the final sound is the Schwa or unstressed vowel sound, approximately an "uh" as mentioned above. Same as the "a" at the end of "Sofa". No settee's here, no pre-tied ties either!

And Pa-teen-a is strictly for the cartoon-character-bow tie brigade.
