How can you lock the presentation so that it can only be run as a slide slow and stop people lifting the pictures out of it?

you mean like taking a print-screen and pasting into an application? It's impossible to stop people getting hold of your pictures

I don't think you can only make it a "slideshow" either as you'll always be able to import the slides into a blank canvas...

If you don't want to loose the pictures, don't put them on in the first place.

or make sure you watermark them or put a copyright banner into them (assuming that won't spoil the presentation!)

As has been said, there's no way to physically "stop" somebody from doing it one way or another.

I thought as much

It's a company sales presentation so the average customer wouldn't have the foggiest about the print screen way.

Also would have made it easier if it was just a run show option.

You can save it as a PowerPoint Show (*.pps) if you want, but I doubt this would stop anyone with PowerPoint from ripping off your slides.

That's what I was looking for. Wasn't aware of this little feature

All the sales guys have to do though is change the extension back to PPT.

A better option may be to convert it to PDF and use the security options in that to remove the editing/saving/printing options.
