is this too expensive

Hi all, i've been advertising this PC for a while

i've had minimal interest, would you say its overpriced or what? i thought it was a good deal considering what Dell Charge. Can you guys give me any recommendations of were to try and advertise?

i would like to avoid eBay if possible

Difficult one.

£400 plays £580 - sounds fair enough, but to a punter its "2nd hand" no matter whether its brand new & boxed or not.

I'm sure one could obtain a similar spec PC (but generic) brand new from one of the online retailers.

I know its not the answer you want, but maybe bidding fever on EBay would be the way to go?

I have just purchased one from Dell (a 3000) for less than that.

The basic model was up for £320 and I had some additional stuff added making it £350.

Check out the website, they are now more, but with a free printer.

Hi Ding, what for the exact same spec? the TFT alone from dell is £165 upgrade

just looking on ebuyer and the cheapest 15" tft they do is £150, the same processor is £70, XP home is £60 that doesn't leave alot left for the other stuff, as far as i can see you can't build a system this spec for much less, if at all. Then you've got the hassle of sourcing the parts and acutaly building it, okay so the building part is easy if you know what your doing, but then if you did you wouldn't be buying a Dell anyway

Yeah - the price is a fair one, but you can get a (non-Dell) system of very similar spec pre-built for not a lot more than that, with the advantage of being truly brand new and direct to the first owner. Its an important psycological thing IMO.

To sell a "2nd hand" PC, the price either has to be very low, or hope for the best on EBay (i.e. a bit of a bidding war)

might try dropping the price £50 see what happens, but gutted though as i aint even opened the box!

otherwise i'll have to brave the messers on eBay...

I'll give you an offer for it but may not be able to pick it up until Friday 3rd December or Saturday 4th December (depending on if I need to work late Friday night). Therefore I don't want to waste your time if you can sell it in the meantime!

In the meantime, put it on ebay and if it doesn't reach a £300 reserve then let me know!
