how to choose a doctors?

hi - moving to a new area so have to register at a docs - any advice of which one to choose - nearest etc?

I suspect you are more likely to find yourself limited to certain ones based on where you are moving to - that's how it is here anyway, I could only register at a specific practice because of my location.

Usually done by location - you will fall into the catchment area for a particular surgery.

As for choosing your GP, the receptionist will usually register you with one of the GPs who are currently accepting patients, otherwise you will be allocated one. You can then change GP at a later date if you really aren't happy with them.

There are now very few places apart from the real sticks or the worst of the sink estates where you do not have a choice of GP practice.

recommendations from people in the locality is often the best way to go...
