Looking at getting a another car to rag around a track/general project. I've narrowed it down to either the FRST or the Puma with the 1.7.

Looking to spend around 3k (±£500), which can get a a modded FRST (195 chip, coilovers ect) put i did a search today for pumas and spotted you can get decent ones for 1k (not modded). Does anyone have any experience with either? especially with track days.

I do have some bits already stockpiled like ST170 front discs, 258mm rear discs and alloys that could be used (16" and 17")

I'm thinking of the FRST due to the extra power but what do you guys think?

Thanks

From that choice you would be better off with the puma

I love the fiestas but that are not in the same league for handling or reliability & cost a fortune to get right

Agreed Puma should be good straight out of the box and any flaws you find over time can be easily ironed out.

Ok so the pumas the one to chose out of those two.

How it it compare to the ST170? i appreciate it's heavier but when i had one before my current focus it was a good handling car and should have more power to boot.

St170 makes a great track car out of the box & will probably be less rusty!
