Hi,

I'm looking at MNA 60 for sale and trying to find out a bit about it. Age, origin etc.
Ad says never been on a car and searches throw up nothing.
Is there any way to find out as vague references only seem to be in the direction of the Isle of Man.

Any pointers appreciated

Michael

Previously unsold auction here

http://www.classic-auctions.com/Auctions/16-02-201...

On ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Doesn't come up on a DVLA Previously auctioned search - strange I'd have expected that with or without the space

http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/search/prev...

On other sites

http://www.boldreg.com/number_plates/MNA%2060

Seeing as DVLA are the only place that sell/issue new plates pretty sure that it probably is an ex DVLA auction plate that someone is trying to turn a buck on

No the Ad says never for sale before, and with the links already provided this is clearly false.

Someone with more knowledge will be along and tell you were it was from originally, but looking at it it's a sub £2K plate

I'm pretty sure it's from Manchester originally.

Correct - Manchester issue - July 1951. Unless it was held back and issued later - but I don't have this info, and given it doesn't create a word, and it's a low digit, I suspect it is indeed an 1951 issued number.

How badly do you want it?
If the 60 is important to you go for it.
There are many on the cherished numbers thread better able to give a guide to value than I am.
Wat I would be willing to bet on is that there are still plenty of reverse single digit MNA plates still to be auctioned. If you need a contact at DVLA pm me.

If I can get it at the right price, I'd go for it. My initials and for a double digit plate, 60 is a good number.
I was just a bit apprehensive with conflicting story in advert saying never been for sale before then finding it listed in various places since 2012.
Maybe it was bought as an unsold lot as they don't show up in previous sold auction listings.

All comments have been helpful, thanks. Will wait and see what the seller says.
