Your satnav took you there?
Was it holding the steering wheel?

Be nice, he did explain that the sign was obstructed, besides we've all taken wrong turns at some point.
OP, I doubt anything will come of it. I doubt there bus parking area is regulated by a parking company, also you didn't actually park did you? With regards to the points, if there were no cameras, and no police around, how could they charge you? I'm not sure you did anything warranting a punishment either. IANAL

I wasn't trying to be nasty, but I accept it may have come across a little harsh so apologies OP.
It was more an observation that when using satnavs people seem to be less observant of their surroundings & just follow blindly where it directs them.

I agree it does seem unfair to be penalised, especially given the parked car that was obstructing the sign. OP did you happen to take a photograph of this? If you do get a NIP it maybe could have been used in your defense.

What bus station was it? As a bus driver in Leeds, we always have a good laugh and a joke when someone drives into Leeds bus station by mistake but have never known anyone to be prosecuted for it.

It's the bus lane cameras you need to be careful of, but even then, it's only a £30 fine and no points.
