Guys I have been on the look out for somebody who could do my split rims for some time to a good quality and reasonable price. The ongoing issue seems to have been with who has the correct tooling to split them, polish and repair if needed, re-assemble with proper bolts and the correct sealing etc.

Well here is the result on mine that were in need of a good sort out:

So for £95 a corner, done and rebalanced with new valves etc and fairly local to me in North Kent I think a good deal!

Chris

That's not a bad price 'cos it's a fiddly job. Did they respray the centres too? Can they take minor dings out of the rims?

Nice job Chris, it took me many evenings and facial scrubs over about 6 months to do mine in the garage, I used Jim's (jmf) contact in Germany for new nuts and bolts and used their silicone too, but it was a lot of hard graft, £95 per corner ain't bad considering all the soap and water you saved not having to jet wash ya face every night, wooly.

I had one slight ding in the outer rim which they have sorted out as well as 2 slight kerbing scuffs which they have taken out so all in all as you say a lot of work to get them apart. They replaced some of the bolts as they were too far gone in terms of corrosion. All properly sealed and tested as well as a home visit in a couple of weeks to check the bolt torque after settling in. They had the wheels for 4 days. They did re paint the centres and laquer the spokes, the rest I wanted left as polished surface so they will need regular cleaning. Interestingly he recomended T Cut metal cream for this, and even left some to be getting on with! All in all the service I got was excellent!
