My 40k mile V8V is due its 8 year service in April.
Received 2 quotes from dealers closest to me:

Murray's in Edinburgh - £1125
Stratstone in Tyne and Wear - £1256

From what I expected they're pretty much around the figure I had in my head.
My car has 7 stratstone stamps already so I'd rather keep up the dealer history than go to an independent.

Anyone else had similar quotes?

I have just today picked up my V8V from its 8 year service from Stratstones costing £600 inc vat.
29000 miles so I didn`t have the gearbox oil changed, which may be included in your quote. all other stuff done.
That is the fifth of eight services at Wilmslow and service was as usual excellent.

1. Ask for a discount as stated above.
2. Buy your own oil, saves about a ton.

Definitely some food for thought at the prices you guys are seeing.
Nearly half the price!!
I think I need to do some more quote searching.

As far as I can see the 8th year service consists of:
(Don't have my manual am overseas just now)

Engine oil &filter change
Air Filter
Gearbox/Diff oil change
Brake fluid change
Coolant change
Spark plugs??
Cabin filters

For the record my car has 7 Wilmslow stamps and they were the supplying dealer. Will call them for a quote as well.
I bought the car last year just after it's 7th service.
Have had zero issues with the car and use it daily driver when I am home.

Plugs are changed at 70,000 miles. At 80,000 miles mine had the pollen filter but not the air filter. Other than that, your list matches what' written on my 80k invoice.

I had my local dealer quote of £1050 for 8 year service, which is my next service in November.

Dave you are mentioning Tyne and Wear Stratstone - if you are considering them then you should also consider Aston Service at Beamish, a mere 13 miles away and probably nearer you.
They are an authorized service depot which means they carry the same status as a main dealer - they just don't sell new cars. I've always found them cheaper than the main dealer, plus their service is excellent.
So nearer independent prices but with full Aston Service Status.

Happily I live within spitting distance of both!

Here is their website so you can have a look - I just had my fourth year service there and they were a lot cheaper than Stratstone.

Not strictly true Tony, mine went in last Thursday for an 8 year service and I picked it up on Friday.....the very next day. Outstanding service and considering I had new front brake pads fitted as well, I was very pleased with the cost. So there.

This site helped me get a decent spread of quotes to discuss with my AM dealer. My advice would be to double check what is included in the service though.

And agreed, buy your own oil.

Apologies I have only done 2900 miles this year so opted for a reduced service a la 10000 miles not 80000 so no gearbox oil change.
My price isn't valid really

My plugs were done at the 7th year too with a real 60K on the clock

It's a good website that, when servicing the Aston I presume you ignore your car's mileage and just go on age in years? (Counter intuitive mind you :-/). Out of interest did anyone find a source for the supplementary service pages to go in the book? Cheers
