Been a member of a lot of other, mainly marquee specific, forums over the years but never PH, so thought I would join up and give a quick introduction.

I'm Gareth and I live in Exeter. Currently own a Corrado VR6 that is running a Garrett GT3582r. Previously owned 3 mk1 golf gti's running various engines, a mk2 gti 2.0 16v, a 'Rado VR6 and an Audi B5 S4 running 430bhp.

The current car is pushing out about 380bhp @17psi which can be turned up or down with a doors device under the bonnet.
Brief spec;
Custom inlet and exhaust manifolds.
Carbon Fiber bonnet.
Wilwood superlights on 312mm disks.
Compomotive TH2's.
Avo coilovers.
Neuspeed adjustable rear arb.
Peloquin LSD.
Flared arches.
Smoothed rear end and tow eye delete.

Few pics.

Quick test fit of the winter wheels, BBS RX2 which have just been fitted with Dunlop Wintersport M3 tyres.

Had this about 8 months now and it is a seemingly endless money pit, but then all cars are with me, there is always something else to upgrade. At some point I would like to change the Avos for some Variant 2s, sort out a bit of paint on the arches and get hold of some Recaros. Just those 3 things total £3k so it is a slow work in progress for now, just need the weather to pick up so I can start enjoying it again in the mean time.

Did you build the car to this spec? Is there a build thread? smile

Cheers guys.
Can't take the credit for building it, was done by a chap called James from Durham. A couple of other guys owned it after him and before me.
I am just getting it back to tip top condition after the previous owner was a bit slack with maintenance. Also improving things when and where I can.

A 98 page build thread can be found here

Those Compos. I think I want to marry them, retire to Devon with them, and raise a family.

Wasn't expecting it to look like that. It's very tasteful and bet a blast to drive, the noise too.

I'm liking a lot...

Hello good evening and welcome. Where's the battery?!

My VR6 will be out tomorrow morning getting a nice new MOT. I hope.

Good luck with the ongoing work.

PS I love the holes drilled in the number plate for added airflow! Neat.

Good eyes seeing the number plate holes.
Battery is located under the arm rest. The guy who built it made one from fibre glass and covered it with the original material, looks exactly like a normal one.

Lovely. The wheels are an inspired choice. I had a 2.9VR6 powered Mk2 Golf for a while and that was enough of a handful with 200bhp so yours must be 'interesting' to say the least! wink

It is certainly funny watching some of the reactions it gets.
On the first day of ownership I had a new M3 come roaring up behind me at some lights heading onto a clear D.C. As the lights turned green he jumped straight into lane 2 thinking I would be easy pickings and managed to get along side as I was having to short shift 1st and 2nd. Once into 3rd I was off and pulling away steadily until I had to back off for my junction. At this point he was still in lane 2 and continued to accelerate past even though by this point speeds were not exactly legal.

Love that, looks cool as on the TH2's. a friend has a 4wd VR6T 'Rado and it is hands down one of the best sounding cars I've heard. Even better than a nasp one somehow! Goes well too...

I'd stray away from talk of ding dongs on here though wink

Gorgeous looking Rado! biggrin

My brother used to have a dark green VR6 - used to make a fantastic noise but never used to feel as quick as it should... However I reckon yours would be in a different league with that turbo?! Haha!

And as with some previous posters... We need some videos.... I do love the sound of a good VR6! They have a sound similar to Chubacca gargling tequila!

Keep up the good work! smile

Awesome, it'll sound very different to an NA VR as the unique sound comes from the stock intake plenum. I bet it sounds great on boost though.

I saw this one on the CF, I can't stop looking at the classifieds as I used to have a G60 and then a VR and miss them both loads.
