TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON! Seen this car joining slow moving traffic near Springkerse. No lights. The guy behind him flashed him a few times. Didn't take the hint. By the time we got to the Craig's roundabout I was about 5 cars behind. Someone else flashed them. Nothing. Going up Burghmuir Road the guy in front of them switched his lights on and off a few times. Then I was directly behind so I flashed them. Still nothing. Last seen turning into the petrol station at St.Ninians Toll. The only saving grace would be he probably had DRLs but still no substitute for proper all round lights in the dark in rush hour traffic. This was over a period of 3-4 miles.

How blind do you have to be when you don't realise something is wrong when everyone around is flashing you? I've seen a few folk without lights at night recently but this person definitely went the longest without noticing something was wrong.

He won't but it makes me feel better! And I suppose someone who can't switch on car lights is unlikely to fathom how to turn on a laptop then find the internet.

Or maybe, just maybe - the protagonist had an electrical issue.

He's probably on the Sandero forum now posting "I was on the way home and had an electrical issue and lights suddenly went out. Some idiot kept blinding me with his full beams. For the love of God, I know the lights are out! But had no visible means of communicating it to him. You would think his action wasn't helping. Rant over."

I didn't think there were any options on these cars?

I've seen an amazing amount of drivers buzzing around with no lights on this winter. And half of them are either oblivious or just give you the finger when you flash them to try to wake the dozy bds up.

In which case he'd be a dick for driving without lights when he knows there's an issue. And it's illegal.

I see people with no lights all the time when it is dark.

The drivers maybe think they are saving battery or fuel, and don't care about anything else.

It is the curse of the stupid permanently light up dashboard

in the old days if you lights were off then you could see the dashboard in the dark

Thanks to fashion the dashboard is permanently illuminated hence you can see the dashboard logic says your headlights are on

How he didn't get the message with all those people trying to tell him is beyond me.

Some people shouldn't really be allowed to drive at all.

Auto lights on all cars would solve the problem, cost about £10 at manufacture but then they wouldn't be a £400 option. I blame the car manufacturers, not the knobs driving with no lights.
