I want to replace my 2.9 engine by a cosworth BOA and am looking for exhaust manifolds ready to fit. In another discussion I read about the blockhugger manifolds from boost performance. Can anybody provide fotos, how they fit in an S(3)? Not looking for a turbo installation.
Anyone any other proposal? Having them built from scratch would be too time consuming /expensive...
I guess exchanging the original manifolds to make them point forward is not a solution as they are not exactly similar.

By the way, can anyone tell me, which of the many sensors of my '91 cosworth is required to keep the motor running? I am trying to find out which wires are essential and which can be cut off, which sensor just has to exist and which has to function. Any advice is most welcome.

Jens

as per pics the only tricky part of fitting the cosworth is the headers there is no room. If you lift the engine up to get headers down the block the engine will not go under bonnet so the headers really need to go forward so will need to be made. Sorry but it will be worth it. Good luck. Richard

Let me know if you need a mans gearbox or anything else for the conversion as I have pretty much all the donor parts you need also BOB cams and BOA ecu and loom.

What management are you going to use?

I love these projects.. smile

I made mine

I have seen photos of the 'boosted' ones and they should fit fine

My engine is completely standard and running original Ford ecu and sensors

The outlet/downpipe from the manifold is at the front of the engine and faces downwards. You use a link pipe that joins into the exhaust system. The link pipe welds into the square plate which bolts to the header.HTH

One more problem - when in idle, after a while revs go down until it dies.
Seems to be an electronic problem.
Any suggestions?

^ Adjust the air bleed at the throttle bypass to get a stable tickover. Iirc you remove the electrical connector when you do this.

Oh and the brakes I have cos brakes both ends of mine.

Not sure there is much else left of use after all that.. Maybe rad and fan set up if it would fit.

And the rear spoiler may be made to fit possibly.. Lols

Actually that reminds me.. I would like to retain the Airbox on mine if possible but not sure it's practical..

I have an apexi cone filter to get up and running.

What are your plans in this area?

Its a slow process. First find out what minimum is required in the Scorpio to keep it running, before i take everything out.
Should have been a frame restauration only when the Cos came along, so I have to watch the budget.
