I'm not the most patient driver at the best of times but today got me thinking about how frustrating it is driving in the rain. Got off the train for a 10 mile home and it had clearly been raining all day, but you'd think the world was going to explode if anyone drove at a speed higher than 15mph below the speed limit.

I have to admit to losing my temper and I must have overtaken about 20 cars in 30 mph limits as they were doing no more than 15mph same in 40s, although they managed to hit the dizzy heights of 20mph.

I wouldn't mind but there was no hint of slippy roads or anything to worry about, in fact it was quite the opposite as the rain had washed all the crap away and it was lovely and grippy.

Does anyone else get frustrated with these slow drivers and the chaos they cause, the roads were like rush hour in places at 7pm due to their dawdling, or am I just an angry person?

Umm, I know we get far more of it over here in NI, but I've never even seen someone slow down because of rain!

Honestly, never seen it!

These people have waxy windscreens, wash n wax on the outside and air-freshener oil on the inside.
Then the original worn out wipers, they can't see where they're going.

Depends on the road was out earlier on a road thats bad for standing water didn't go above 40 (50mph limit) It was slinging it down though

I'd rather not aquaplane all over the shop.

Although I do know the drivers you're talking about slightest bit of drizzle and they st it

What I particularly like is that most of these slow morons are in massive 4x4s, and I'm stuck behind them a few inches off the deck wanting to go faster. I've also seen massive 4x4s slow down to a crawl for speed bumps.

So because someone owns a 4x4 they should hit speed bumps at 30mph, you bellend

Not only that, it's the tossers who put their fog lights on in drizzle at nightime. 25 mph while being blinded. Wonderful.

I'll try to remember not to run over you when I'm out and about.

5th November, year before last, I'd finished work on the South Coast and drove back to Yorkshire in my Volvo in filthy dirty weather...

I was pushing it at 70 as far as I was concerned and people were flying past me. At one point a police car also went past with blues on and the overheads were slowing people down and into lane 1. People were still flying down at 90 with no vision. How they managed not to add to the accident I do not know.

Even in a 4x4 you've got shocks to shag and bearings to Brinell, something which applies to all cars but very few people seem to understand.

Or maybe they've just got something in the back they don't want bounced all over the place.

Massive ground clearance, designed for off-road use. Who's the bell-end? I only slow down because the chassis grounds on the bumps otherwise.

Our X5 has high(er) ground clearance, but rock hard suspension. I slow far more for speed bumps than in my old merc estate...

That high clearance means they either have hard suspension or bounce like buggerie.
