Ok, so I've completed all the Mario games, the cheesy driving games (Asphalt, Ridge Racer) and got bored of 3d Tetris (original on my 1990 Game Boy is better), so what is available for a more "grown-up" experience on the 3ds?

I saw some guy on the train the other day fighting a dragon, 3rd person sword thingy, looked good. Or is it there a Call of Duty style thing at all?

Weirdly, the existence of Resident Evil: Revelations made me vaguely want a 3DS the other day and I was keen to know if there were other games in a similar vein...?

Yeah, tried that. Sadly I didn't feel the hardware was up to it, both in terms of processing power and graphics. Both were stopping me from doing what I wanted in the game, felt frustratingly like when I used to try and play modern PC games on my old AMD K6/2!

Interesting. I just ordered it for the XBOX but had read a review saying "try and play it on the handheld if you can as it suits it better..." Will see but that's a pity-thought it looked like the perfect 'grown up' game.

All the fight parts were just a whirl of pixels and blurryness, the sound wasn't much cop, and the 3D just made it more confusing.

Hope it's better on the 360! The original Resident Evil is one of my fondest gaming memories, so I'm hoping this will rekindle my interest. I'd like a handheld to play in bed, but I'm not seeing the games tbh. I prefer stuff like that, and it seems like the DS is more aimed at fun, casual games and PSVita is pretty unsupported...dunno.

RE on the 3Ds is great - the 3D is spellbinding at times.

Luigi's Mansion is a joy to play. So well made, too.

Part from that... I've only really put any time into China Town Wars (and that's a DS game!)

There's 2 Zelda games but not saying they are grown up though.

China Town Wars is pretty good and is one of my favourite games ever. Prefer it to the PS2 GTA games.

What's SF4 like?

Trade it in for a PS Vita - Killzone Mercenary is damn good, looks sublime (ps3 quality) and is chock-full of ultra-violence thumbup

No, I prefer the 3D and layout of the 3DS XL. I still play my PSP quite regularly though, so I'll probably get a Vita in future.

Ordered Bravely Default and Fire Emblem: Awakening for the 3DS, will report back.

I was going to mention Bravely Default, but wasn't sure that was what you had in mind by 'grown up'. Apparently it's a Final Fantasy game in all but name.

Yeah, it's about the best I could do really!

Just playing Fire Emblem at lunchtime today, turn based RPG. Bit miffed you don't get to actually fight the baddies - it's more like Pokemon in that respect.

Are you trying to tell me Pokemon isn't an adult game! hehe

It's the only reason we have any handheld devices at home

Why has nobody mentioned Animal Crossing New Leaf? I'm 26 and have 125 hours of whimsical fun under my belt.
