Having ordered 2x sets of plugs B7ECS from 2 different suppliers they have both sent B7ES instead.

So the question is have the ECS been discontinued and could I use ES instead - are there any major differences or should insist on ECS afterall it can't be that difficult as both sets were advertised as ECS !!

Very frustrated as i had time to change them all tomorrow...

The difference seems to be the electrode. ECS has a 'low angle' electrode, whereas the ES I presume just has a normal one.

From memory, I put ES instead of ECS in mine to project the spark a tad deeper in the chamber for better ignition. The electrode is more exposed with the ES.

Buy from somewhere reputable as well, not ebay.

Theres a lot of copy ngk plugs about. I recently bought a set ready for a mapping session only to find that when on the rollers 3 out the 8 were duds. Didnt do much for BHP.

Good linky Cerberus - looks like its worth fitting the correct ECS

Interesting that adjusting gap is not recommended with the ground electrode on ECS - I always have adjusted (without issues) as preset is 0.8 & factory 0.85 ??

0.8 will soon become 0.85 as the spark eats away at the electrode. thumbup
