Anyone tell me how the silver dash center piece is fixed on? I've undone the 3 tricky nuts along the top edge.

Thanks

yep that helps a lot and I'm suprised at how different it is from my assumption.Though the heater controls would be mounted to the dash and this just a cover.

Mmmm. Will stufy the pic a bit more bfore I carry on

You can't take it off with the heater control, you have to undo the two nuts either end of it, depending which heater cable has been used, you may be able to pull the face panel forward enough to get a spanner in, you couldn't with mine.

It really is a rubbish design, my guess is the people who assembled it in South Africa had very small hands.

Thats a pig of a job then. Removing is easier than putting the nuts on... might just use push fit trim clips when i get round to making the new one.

just had another look and I'd say its proof of child labour at Noble! Can't find any access to get my hands in to reach the lower bolts (or put any back on!)

Any helpful hints?

I've got this to look forward to when I try to fit a screen on that fascia. Be good to see some pics once you manage to get it off..don't fancy getting a dealer to do it frown

Remove the screws (two I think) on each side of the dash/centre console at the bottom. They are covered by the carpet. This allows you to pull the centre console out a bit, then stick one of those head mounted torches on your head and you'll be able to see a bit more of what your doing. Plus a long 1/4" flexi extension helps a lot. Have a box of plasters at the ready!

thanks for all the hints.

My plan is to make a mold for a new one that has space for the oil gauge and a 5 inch android tablet.

Kinda long term project, the first job is to get it off and do some measurements .

Thanks Andy- yep we discussed that before and it would be a simple option to grab yours for a day. Just haven't been up your way for a while. It's either a couple of hours round trip to you or a couple of hours swearing in the garage!
Will let you know if I get to the point of surrender.

Your method of getting to the dash might be the simplest- remove the body!
