Looking back at a time when it wasn't raining.
Track footage from Bedford last summer, nothing spectacular but some reasonable trackday stuff with a little Scooby snack at about 5 mins.
Prizes for identifying
a) the other Chimaera (owner) at about 8 mins.
b) the rather nice Italian race car shortly after.

Sorry about the wind noise, no remote mic

That was just lovely on a bleak freezing wet Sunday morning.
I was really enjoying that from like 8 minutes on, found myself chuckling at both you and Phazed taking a bit more curb etc. really got me smiling.

Mid-afternoon IIRC, when the XF broke just after the pits exit and the Lancia guys finally fixed their water leak. That was a great day. I only had two spins that time, at the tight corner at the end of the main straight. Car now been corner weighted, no spins since then. Suspension set up and balance is almost more important than power, I have found.

Were you still there right at the end when we were all packing up and there was a sole Exige out on the circuit? He did a massive spin as he entered the pits straight and for about 200 yards across the grass. Bedford sure is good for runoffs.

Yeah Bedfords a good facility, I really enjoyed my day there last year, soaking wet but what fun.

Sounds like your car is really sorted Anthony, yep balance and brakes are the most important areas to my mind.

If the car behaves your obviously going to be more confident and so on.

Some good driving on this very vid. Early turn in on some corners and a lovely late apex on others,

Fatboychim, get rid of that wind noise and that's proper cool.

Isn't Phazed getting a pension, if I'm that competetive at 70 I'll be well happy. Sorry Peter but its the only area I can see a weakness, Lol lol lol. I have an uncle who's 80 odd and still rocks on a piano!

Age is no weakness but in my case it is, my eyes are crap with or without glasses and I'm not yet 50?

On a day like today, you realise how much fun these boys are having.

Great crack fatboychim/Phazed.

Yes. He has brand new computerised geo equipment complete with corner weighting kit, and the knowledge and experience to go with it. A proper setup really makes the car handle, even in the wet.

My car has an extra degree of camber at the front after he tested my tyre temps at Snetterton and found the inside edges were cold. Handled much more confidently after that.

Good time of year for it, before the "ooh look, sunshine" rush starts.
It's also one of those do it while you wait jobs. Fascinating to watch, and of course he needs your arse in the car for the corner weighting. It's not even expensive, the only variable being unsiezing the rear toe adjusters if needed.

Yes I was there for the lotus spin, very impressive, the XF went sideways on the grass right in front of me but he managed to rescue it, when I spoke to him he said the ECU was sensing an overheating diff and shutting it down so I guess that happened one time too many.

Yes, I may treat myself to a decent camera this year. It sounds ok with the roof on but hopeless once the top is off!

Through the buffeting could I occasionally hear Phazed getting on the gas?
Two Tvr engine notes how cool is that.

Well worth the investment Andy,,,,,,, so much I can learn about tracks I know little about, lol.
Nice early throttle and cutting the curbs more like chopping them off entirely,
Really nice lines a real treat to watch.

Just saw this thread Andy. I stupidly posted your clip up seperately, must be old age!

Alun, nearly 50, pull the other one! End of this year is my big one frown, ah well.

Bedford is a very safe track and you can really enjoy it.

There's nothing better then having a few TVRs out on track together, I think at Snetterton we managed about 7-8 but they didnt stay together for long!

I saw it and had a chuckle.laugh If anyone is interested, hit my name on YouTube there is another vid of Bedford which is broadly the same, there's also one when we went to snetterton earlier in the year and a couple from our £300 Nurburg challenge a few years back.

Some more good stuff from 10.30 onwards, imo wink.

Must have been later in the day as I seem more on "the edge"!
