Got to do the dreaded dead and drive north of where I live tomorrow :O Heading off to Northampton, up the M1 and then through Northampton, wondering if anybody who has done this drive before knows what its like for camera's / mobile vans. I know there are specs in the city center so mostly thinking about the M1.

Just for a bit of warning

Thanks in advance.

M1 is free from scameras, main problem likely to be talivans on bridges, cars on on-slips and the dreaded dark coloured 5 series and omegas.

Northamptonshire is pretty bad for SPECS around the A45 though.

Have a good drive.

Is that all? I'm leaving London at 9am with an ETA in Aberdeen of around 7pm having taken a slight detour to Edinburgh on the way. Going to have the radar detector on (and maybe the optional laser head as well).

Why worry - you are going on a motorway so not much hope of going above 40mph !!!!!!

Sorry, only 19 and not used to long journeys. Have driven to Nottingham and Cardiff before but still dont like leaving London, all sorts of evil things lurk outside this city.

Best idea is to not let your speed drop below 90. That way nothing evil gets any chance to grab hold

All sorts of evil things lurk inside it too, so you should cope just fine.

Aren't there SPECS cams on the M25/M1 junction???

Couple of tips, don't stray off the main roads, there be dragons!

Oh and all that greenstuff in your peripheral vision is that countryside thing the hunt protestors keep banging on about!

I only travelled up to Northampton and people knew I wasnt local, they knew I was from London. Am I that different?? Never mind, should be OK with speed camera's from now on next time I go up there and will perfect the accent.

Northamptonshire is notoriously bad.
