Sticking Rear Number Plate

Anybody an idea what to stick the see through rear number plate onto an early Chim? Tried double sided permanent carpet tape and that is already peeling off after 2 days.

If the problem is urgent, you can buy adhesive strips for this job from most boy racer car shops, halfords etc.

Or simply go in to any new car dealership and scrounge some from them.

If it's any help: I got a blank plate - i.e. just the clear perspex and fitted that with countersink screws. This then gave be a big enough area to use the standard sticky pads to fit the plate at each end and a thin strip top and bottom.
