Went to change the eprom in my 14cux for a Mark adams 1 got off ebay, and as I pulled the old trip I noticed pin 15 was bent and had never been making a connection.
Does anyone know what this was for.
Car was ok, 5l standard griff made 281hp at the growl so I assume no running problems as a result.

If you really want to know then have a read, but don't ask me to explain.

Line 3 of the output data bus would be permanently low. This would result in the lower nibble of a good % of data bytes being read out of the prom in a corrupted state (x4 would read as x0, x5 as x1 ... xF as x7), the ECU wouldn't be able to function correctly. I think there must have been some contact between the bent chip pin and the socket. If not, I give up and it's all done by mirrors.
