One of these has come up for sale and I might be able to bag it for a few hundred quid with a bit of luck.

It's on an R plate so getting on a bit but only done 24k miles, one owner and 6months+ test.

I currently have an immaculate condition 2006 Toyota Celica 190 t-sport that I'm wanting to change as I need something a bit bigger for chucking the kids in every now and then (have a ford Galaxy for full on family outings)...I also find it pretty low to get in/out of it's also recently started giving me sciatic pain after 10minutes, suffering with a bit of a dodgy hip/hamstring at the moment and it doesn't help. Shame as it's otherwise a fantastic car, dad bought it new in fact so known it from birth,

Anyway..

The cheap fiat would act purely as a bridging car to enable me to sell the celica and then buy something else....was thinking an Octavia VRs or Seat Leon Cupra R would fit the bill.

So the question is, assuming it's a straight car and all ok would a £3-400 Fiat Siecento Sporting be utterly dire, I'm kinda guessing I could use it for a few months then stick it on Ebay without losing any money really?

As an aside, if anyones got a 4 door warm/hot hatch/saloon/estate/anything and fancies a swap then give me a shout.

I had one as a new hire car once.

Me and a friend had a competition to see who could get home first. He had a Honda Accord with the v-tech which on paper had far more potential.

Just it was too wide to fit through the gap between the traffic island and the Volvo door mirror like the Seicento could.

If it is working ok then it will be a hoot.

I had a Cinquecento for my first car and loved it. You have now got me thinking of getting a Seicento Sporting for abit of fun!

My first year of driving was behind the wheel of my mom's 2002 sporting. Always a giggle to drive, though I'd like to know how a Cinquecento or a non PAS one compares. I now have a 106 1.1 which doesn't feel as fast or as fun. It's been mostly reliable and they're easy for DIY repairs. I'd happily buy another and it's made me think about doing it!

Oh, and don't crash smile

Apt user name!

If it's still available next weekend I might just make him an offer.

24k from new, service history for a few hundred quid? It's a no brainer for me. In fact let me know when you're done as it sound like the perfect free run about

my dad had a 1.0 Cinquecento years ago, he loved it - basic, compact, slow, but lots of fun.

He only sold it as the headgasket blew shortly after he spent a fortune having a new loom/fusebox fitted as the old one literally went up in smoke after my mum did the dangerous task of switching the lights, wipers and rear screen on at once.

He still talks fondly of it though!

No choice...no way I can get to see it in anything other than pitch dark conditions until the weekend.

Good replies anyway, seems to be a win win if I can get it....I'm not going to be upset if it's gone though (and I'm fully expecting it to be really).

No offers of a swap for my Celica then?? smile

I wonder if a "swap shop" sub forum would work on here?
