How much of this is true?

A friend, on sighting an ANPR camera set-up, engaged nearest representative and reports thus:

Friend: "I was wondering if it was a speed trap, as there are no gatso signs near by"

Policeman: "We can catch you however we like, yellow gatso, grey gatso, hidden gatso, signed or unsigned gatsos, marked or stripy vans - if your speeding we will catch you."

Comments anyone? How much of this is true?

All of it except the last bit which should have been 'we may catch you'. There's nothing definite about it.

The "guidelines" are just that, so I suppose we (BiB) could ignore them, and go "Stealth Sniper Mode In A Hedge"... Personally, I wouldn't.

Even in the current "SPEED KILLS" climate, I'm sure the Bosses would have you in for a "meeting without coffee" if they found out we were up to those tricks.

Good show. What's the form on grey and hidden gatsos? I thougth they had to be disbanded/painted/covered up by at least a year ago?
What irked me about the original comment was the rather superior arrogance of it, expressed as it was to a 19-year old who didn't have the knowledge to dispute it. There's simply no need for it, and a chance to get a youngster on-side was lost.
