Just a quick thumbs up from me for the BCS Exhaust, and specifically Dave Pike.

After a few phone calls from me, I soon plucked up the courage to go for the BCS system and the DIY fit option, purely as Dave was so far from me plus it sounded like a good winter project... Some that I spoke to were reluctant to provide a DIY fit option as apparently, due to the variations in our cars, one system, doesn't fit all. Dave however was confident that due to the design of the system, and the amount of joints that can be adjusted, this shouldn't be a problem.

From the start, nothing was too much hassle. I wanted to retain standard looking tailpipes so Dave sorted that out for me. I've had it a few months and got side tracked by some of lifes other challenges, but finally set to it over the last weekend.

Here it is led out:

And a couple of it fitted (not great pictures, sorry!):

I used the opportunity to strip back, treat, and repaint the rear framework, and wrap it.

The fit of the exhaust was ridiculously easy. It went together just as suggested, and the tailpipe alignment is 99.9% perfect. So pleased. All came wrapped and with all clamps, sealant and bolts. The quality of the fabrication is superb, and it also has flex sections which is a bonus.

I haven't been for a proper drive yet as i'm just finishing a few other bits off, but it sounds perfect for my taste. Reasonable on idle and a bit more of a bark when the loud peddle is pushed.

Anyway, top marks to Dave / BCS. Fitting an exhaust has never been so pain free. Now onto re-fixing the under trays back on frown

I fitted one of Dave's masterpieces approximately a year and a half ago, amazing bit of kit. As you have said, full of adjustment, flexi's and it sounds amazing...without being too loud. Dave is a real gent, he spent a lot of time detailing everything.

Hi Mat, take it you're still a happy bunny this far on? I was close to buying the Roush, just didn't want the noise..

More than happy, exhaust note has changed slightly (to be expected) but still sounds really good without being too loud. Enjoy! smile

Looks great.

Did the hardware kit include new turbo to elbow gaskets?

Hi Matt, no gaskets. Sealant provided for the joints of ths system, and I purchased new gaskets for the turbo's myself prior to fitting. Hopefully give it it's maiden voyage at the weekend now it doesn't look like the car is on fire...(that heat wrap sure get's smokey on first start...)

Why does the map need checking? Reduced restriction leading to elevated boost levels or something?
Is it really that finely balanced that a change of exhaust puts things in danger?

Did the fuel pump wiring mod just before Xmas, so that's all okay. Dave/BCS claims the system is built with no need for a remap. Is this not possible?

That looks really nice.

If you dont mind me asking what was the cost? did that include Cats?

Also are you using the stock manifolds?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

A little over £1700 delivered to the door. That's with 200 cell cats etc.

Stock manifolds replaced recently for the factory Noble ones.

Because it might run leaner.

I thought that's what the oxygen sensors were for, and adjusted the mixture to suit?

If they are wide band then yes but std ones are narrow band and would have the scope to adjust much.

My widebands are not used above a certain boost pressure anyway as its a bit dangerousness if one was to fail. Mine are used for general driving and cruising. Power is hard mapped

I see, bloody annoying that an exhaust then requires a mapping session, raises the cost significantly, and the exhausts aren't exactly cheap in the first place.

Dave made my exhaust and i didnt get it mapped until two years later, Although i wished i'd mapped it sooner as i got good power after!

Was it dangerously out prior to mapping?

You take your chances, u don't have to get it mapped but worth getting it on the rollers to check. For £60 or so it's worth a check.

Also upping the boost a little bit will give near on 400 bhp with a free flowing exhaust smile
