thought i had a valley gasket water leak as kept seeing water at the rear end of valley. Not a one to be worried by such things, keep an eye on it keep topping it up be ok till i get week end on it. Gave it a spanking tonight, yep found it a split small hose of the thermostat. that made it easy lol.

now trying to identify pipe its the heater from stat to metal feed pipes

Sometimes the jubilee clips there just need a tweak.

I think they can corrode a bit, they do have a swaged end, I put two clips on each pipe just to be sure.

I would also check your thermo gasket too. Water that leaks from there will drip into the valley and work its way to the rear...

I had almost similar situation last summer, ie. water at the valley. The amount of water on the valley increased and I found out it was the thermostat gasket that was leaking. Dunno why, though, it seemed fine when I open the thermostat box:
