V12 Boot Spoiler

Looking at the below pic, it looks like the Vantage has a boot spoiler - does anyone have any info on this part?

I must admit I quite like the look of the spoiler. Does it do anything though? Has it been correctly designed? Plus I imagine correctly locating it would be vital. Having had loads of problems with the fit of the tailgate on my car, if the spoiler is effective will it pull it out of alignment again?

I very much doubt it. Much like the rear diffuser.

A spoiler on a road going Aston is just wrong.

I would generally agree with this, I don't think it would suit a DB9 for example. However, the V12V is a different beast, Aston even market the thing as the 'Sports' car of the range - I think with all the extra grills, oversized wheels, carbon exterior bits etc., the spoiler wouldn't look out of place...

IMHO it looks awful, something more akin to a part from Halfrauds for a Saxo !!!!

I do like a good spoiler, but it ruins the lines of the car in this case.
