Has anyone ever had their 550/575 remapped?
Discussion
Was just having an idle google and it seems there are quite a few places that do it, was wondering if anyone had gone down that route with any success? 550 engine strikes me (in my very limited knowledge) as possibly quite a good candidate given it's design age and the fact that it has a relatively lazy specific output i.e. it's not highly strung like say a 355

Interesting....can you define big difference? Did you get updated figures/dyno results after? (Or before and after for comparison?)
Loads more mid range power, we did do dyno results not sure where they are. its been fitted now for 7 years, best few hunded quid weve spentBluebottle911 said:
Is your 550 not fast enough, then?
sorry, somehow missed this!Powerrrrrrr!
Of course it's plenty fast enough although clearly my prowess behind the wheel means that it is holding me back somewhat
But on a serious note, why not consider it if it's an option? Discrete reversible use of modern tech to make a classic better. You could bet Ferrari engineers would have if they could have at the time. Hell, might even get better fuel economy to make the greenies happy

One of our members had a 575 map and decat on his 550, sure he will be along soon...
Yes, mine was from Micholotto (who know a thing or two about Ferraris). It isn't a 575 map as such but gives similar power. John from GT Cars arranged it all and installed it. Michelotto have a choice of maps - depending on style of driving. It cost about £400 and made a difference - dyno showed 510 bhp and 431 lb ft. The software guy at Micholotto tailored map for decat exhaust. Works well.Well worth it.
