front camber settings
Discussion
I have bought a little gauge after my mot last week, my front wheel had serious negitive issues I never spotted until my mot'er pointed it out on my offside wheel. It did feel a bit crap to drive but it was only 2-3 miles to the garage at 40mph tops. Plus I had more other important things to listen out for after my years work.
So I am wondering what is a good angle? The nearside has about 1\2 to 3/4 of a degree of negitive set up,
My reason for having to adjust it was it was played about with by a garage who I think did not tighten the bolts back up 100% so it went slack and moved all the way in.
Any wisdom and advice welcome please.
It states in the manual 0.5- 1.25 degrees? Just trying to find out other peoples set ups

I think you have to be quite accurate with the setup and my experience is that the DIY type camber gauge is not good enough, mine was only sorted when i had a proper 4 wheel alignment done at Neil Garners.
I know but it had a full geo set up by track v road not many miles ago, I am only adjusting camber on the front, not complex stuff. There isn't really a correct amount, it a case of set it for what you what after you've done a load of research or pay a pro to do it all for you. I've been playing with the setting on my 200sx before getting the cerb back on the road so I've got an idea of what different set ups feel like as it all much easier to adjust on the 200.
Ideally you'll take a pic of the car when you are going flat our round a bend & the car is a max body roll & try to get it adjusted so the wheel is vertical then. So that's great for max cornering grip, but if you don't spend you life going flat out round bends you'll want to back it off a bit as the more neg you have the worst the tyre wear will be & you'll have a smaller contact patch for breaking. I've got a pair of fronts that are very worn on the inside edges to prove it.
As it goes back together I'll be setting it at something like -1 deg to start with & see how it goes. (you must have the car on a totally level floor to within 1 - 2mm to be able to set anything on the suspension)

No probs, I was thinking about it after I wrote that, I think I may go for something like -0.75. Thanks for confirming what your other side was.
I need to find where I wrote down the camber setting when it was wearing the inside edges, I fairly sure it was more (it that right in negative numbers ?!) than -1 deg, as in getting on for -2 deg.
I'm sure it was running excessive negative camber as it had a full set by TVR (back in the day) then I fitted the nitrons & only had the tracking set as I didn't know better back then. Lowering it increases the negative camber. The fronts did seem to lock excessively easily & as I said wore the inside edges.
