waxoiling in ipswich

anyone know of somewhere that does it well ?

I'd do it myself, but really need a ramp and if it has to go somewhere for a ramp it might as well be done by them.

I've called my local wee garage that services my mundaeo, but they don't really do waxoiling. They'll do it if I provide all the stuff, etc but I think I'd rather get it done somewhere that will do a 150% job.

I got Kerridges to sort a few bits of rust on the chassis of my Chimaera at the last service (de-rust and waxoyl), so they will do it, but I guess the cost will be quite high - they should know what they are doing though!

What you need :
1 leccy screwdriver
1 wire brush bit
1 tin of underbody seal
pack of throwaway brushes
1 spray can of cavity wax

Step 1. Pressure wash the underside very thoroughly.
Step 2. Attack and areas of rust with the leccy screwdriver using wire brush bit. It would have to be extremely rusty to end up causing any holes etc.
Step 3. Paint the underside and arches with the underbody seal
Step 4. Use spray can of cavity wax to rustproof box sections etc.

Total time : about 2 hours assuming you arent dealing with a lot of surface rust. make it 2 1/2 if you are planning on removing interior trim to do inside doors etc.

Spray can cavity wax is my new best friend. Id formerly done rustproofing using the big can of waxoyl + the annoying little pump attachment. This spray can gets much better coverage, no mess, just as easy to get into everything (in fact the propellant gets it further into box sections etc). The one i used had won practical classics award, and I can see why.

p.s. if youre even lasier you can get spray cans of underbody seal so you dont get mucky with a brush.

Try Scole Engineering in Scole (Near Diss). They do a very thorough job at a very reasonable price and have done countless TVR's.

I have even seen them stripping suspension off to do the job properly.....!
