I am after two tracker tags but one will do for now. Let me know if you have any spare.

I don't know if you've already realised it but the tags are pretty useless (and v expensive). Most of us use our 'phones instead.

I haven't got round to linking my phone, I was trying to work out an easy way to do it when you have to call them and as while speaking to them presumably you have to fiddle with the phone?

IIRC, you speak to them, put the 'phone down then they send you the 'pairing signal'. They then call you back.

Tags are a waist of time, pair your phone. Takes about 10 minutes.

You call them and hold while they do the pairing.

Took about 20 mins last time I did it.

I just sat in the car on the drive and rang them on the Mrs's mobile phone and they then sent the pairing message to my mobile that was sitting next to me, saved faffing about trying to do two things with the same phone

Missing the point here I think Graham. I've got a couple spare, PM your address and I'll get them off to you on Monday when I'm back to office.
Best, John

I'm not sure if you guys with the phone paired but I've called cobra who now do the tracking (not eurowatch) and they say it's not possible to pair the car to the phone. So that little black tag will have to stay in my pocket a little while longer

That'a a bit of a retrograde step.

Much more convenient to pair with your phone than have to carry around yet another "thing".

Tell me Rob,,,,when, as occasionally happens, ones mobile loses signal, long tunnels, mountainous regions etc, I believe that would provoke a response from the Tracker company,,,no?

I've paired my mobile and once had this happen. I put it down to a temporary loss of signal. confused

On the AM Eurowatch system the mobile phone only connects to the tracker bluetooth module briefly when you start the car and then it disconnects almost instantly.
This lets the tracker module know the person in the car has the correct paired device.
It does not monitor the car / tracker after that point unless the car is stopped and started again

I don't think that bit's changed - there is a light on the dashboard that goes off if its detected the fob and then that's it until the next time you come to start. The car also doesn't need to be in contact with the control centre all the time, I imagine a once per journey. The only real need to do so is to report things like battery health and general system status so they can intervene in the event of a problem.

The AM handbook still says you can pair to a phone but the Cobra one doesn't. The fobs are also quite small now and no AM logo on.
